Spinning bins and blowing up balloons!

Yesterday all of the ty's went to the Institute of Technology Tallaght for Science week.We had a talk on Chemistry which was very interesting and fun! We left school at 10:40 and arrived a bit too early so we got a talk in one of the labs from one of the lecturers about bacteria which was very informative .At 12:15 we had our talk along with one other school .The talk was very interesting with experiments for every fact.For most experiments he chose someone from the audience to help him which gave us all a laugh as we watched a boy try to blow a ball into an empty bottle which was impossible hehe ! We also saw a bin spinning  around a lit small fire which was quite weird .. The talk ended with a huge bang (literally) as he had a balloon which we all believed to be full of helium but was actually full of hydrogen and he lit it on fire and it had a huge bang and a gust of hot air which nearly gave me a heart attack ..He was trying to teach us that we shouldn't always believe a balloon is full of helium as it is a mystery gas so it may not always be !

Zumbaaaa

Last Thursday half of the TY year had a double P.E class of ZUMBA .It was so much fun and a great laugh was had by everyone ! We are doing Zumba for the next 6 weeks with a woman called Grainne :) Its tiring but supposedly very good at burning calories and keeping Fit :D I had never done Zumba before but i was really excited for it and it really lived up to my expectations :D

Mini company Blossoms

For Mini company my group decided to do Candy Trees and call our business 'Candy Blossom'.Eimear Plunkett , Amy Byrne, Lauren Beale,Lauren Mc Donald,Aoife byrne and Niamh O'Halloran are in my group!We have finally got all the products to make the trees themselves which caused alot of stress and anger in the group at the start but its all Grand now :D We are selling them in the Science corridor every Tuesday at Lunch time and we hope they will be successful . We are giving people the choice of what sweets they want from bonbons to Maltesers ! Theyre a really good price and are well worth it ! Heres a few pictures of candy trees :D

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

On Friday we had our annual school Fun Walk which was great craic. Each year St Wolstans holds the Fun walk in aid of different charity's, each student is asked to bring in two euro to support the chosen charity's.
Each year is  given a colour to dress up in ,Ty's got yellow :) each class in the school has to come up with a dance with the theme of friendship and theres a compettion for the best class of each year ! CORNARO WON WOO ! Our theme was the ugly ducking , all of us dressed up as ducks ! Ms O'R was the mother duck and Lauren was the ugly ducking.We danced to Its my party  , keep on moving and We're all in this together while lauren waddled away with the duck song and in the end we all came together as a flock of ducks :D we put in alot of effort into the costumes and dance so luckily our hard work paid off :D And because we won we had a party in English with Ms O'R with the box of roses we won :D

Work experience has Ailbhe in stitches !

so far i've had two weeks of work experience and its been great :) 

Walk like a lady

So for the first three Wednesdays of Ty we had different sorts of workshops from Positive Parties with Denise Devlin to Confidence building with Austin Dunne to Deporting and Etiquette with Kate and Brenda from Bk inniú and last Wednesday for one workshop we had Mr Corcoran and Ms Hughes to help with work experience and last but not least massaging with Gilíosa ! Each workshop was different in a good way ..
Massaging with Gilíosa was a great way to relax and get a free massage  waheey ,but was also a chance to learn how to massage properly and we also learned about how to massage the head correctly :)
Positive parties was where the craic was at from dressing up in banana costumes to Laughter yoga it was so great fun as we got to play pass the parcel :D and during this workshop we also got the chance to see Ms Leahy in pink sparkly 7inch heels  haha .
Bk inniú was something very different but was also fun , we started with deporting learning how to walk like lady's shoulders back and the likes... felt a bit like the ICA without the seriousness hehe , we then changed into heels and learned how to walk properly to save ourselves the shame of falling on a night out !We were also taught how to apply makeup correctly and the importance of looking after our skin which shamefully is something I lack on doing a lot !

This Wednesday coming is our First work experience ... I'm going to Elm hall Nursing home which I'm so nervous about but at the same time so excited as nursing is something I've always wanted to do !Hopefully Ill be grand :)

Something new to do

Last week myself and a few of the girlos decided to join choir as we have plenty of time to join new things compared to last year ! It was great craic even tho none of us are the best singers we still managed to join in the songs !On Friday we had our first school mass of the year and the choir sang in it and despite the embarrassment we managed to do just fine :D We have practise tomorrow after school which should be a bit of fun I hope :)
